Contributing to Human Archive
What is Human Archive?
Human Archive collects first-person ("egocentric") video of everyday tasks — recorded by contributors like you — to build datasets that train embodied-AI and robotics models. You find a task, record a short clip of yourself doing it, and submit.
How do I record?
Open a task, line up the shot so your hands and the task are in frame, and double-press a volume button to start and stop recording. A spoken countdown plays before recording begins, and a confirmation plays when you stop. You can re-record or delete any clip before you submit — nothing leaves your device until you tap Submit.
What does the app capture?
Your video clips contain first-person video and motion (device-motion / IMU) data only — no audio is recorded into them. Voice-based tasks ("Voice Exchange") are a separate, optional feature that does record, store, and share your voice as biometric data; those are governed by the Voice Contributor Rules and a separate in-app consent. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail, and the Recording Rules for what you may and may not capture.
How do payouts work?
Approved submissions earn the payout shown on each task. Your balance and settlement history are visible in the app, and payouts are sent to your chosen payout method after your submissions are approved.
Why was my clip rejected?
Clips are reviewed against each task's requirements and the Recording Rules — common reasons are hands not visible, the wrong task, poor lighting, or capturing something the rules prohibit. You can re-record and resubmit.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This deletes your account and personal information. Approved clips are de-identified (unlinked from your identity) and kept as part of the datasets; unapproved clips are deleted. See the Privacy Policy.
